Nan Hunt has taught for over thirty years: poetry, general creative
writing workshops, and english. She innovated Jungian-based
writing workshops for UCLA extension Writing Program: "Trusting
the Spontaneous Voice" and "Tygers & Medusas, Writing the
Transformation of Anger." She also taught creative and English at
CSUN; Pierce, Moorpark, and Southwest Colleges as well as
lecturing or leading writing seminars in more than thirty-five cities in
the U.S.: in San Francisco, Portland, Atlanta, Amarillo, Charleston,
et al. And abroad: Kyoto, Matlock, England; London, Suffix, Zurich;
and at Jung Institutes in Orange County and Los Angeles (several).
Her poetry has appeared in over one hundred publications:
Poets On, Slant, Beloit Poetry Journal, Southern California Anthology,
California Quarterly, Kyoto Review, Poet India, (M)other Tongues (Canada), The Oregonian (featured, 9/11 memorial; Shelia-Na-Gig, & Nimrod (Neruda Prize). Poetry fellowships: Harcourt Brace (U of Col.) Centrum, Suffield College. Hambidge Center for the Arts, teaching fellow (on going).
Many of her numerous students have become regularly published
writers. For instance, Norm Levine:
